5 tips for using social media

Updated: Feb 5, 2019

So, you're on social media...perfect! That is step #1: making the account. But, what's next? What do you post? Who do you follow? Here are my 5 quick tips for social media beginners...

Tip #1: Be YOURSELF!

Using your social profile to showcase exactly who you are is beyond important. After all, it is your page, right? Make your feed completely your own. Post what you like, post for you - never for someone else.

Tip #2: Follow Your Interests

The best way to make the most of your social platforms is to follow those who interests you. Artists, musicians, authors, public speakers - whoever gives you a small spark of creativity, follow what they are up to! Use their posts as inspiration for your own.

Tip #3: Don't be afraid to connect

Use it as it is - a social platform! Follow friends, reply to posts you like, share with others, etc. Don't be afraid to comment on a post you like, or to message someone you want to connect with. Social media is an amazing networking tool, get your name out there!

Tip #4: Stick to a theme

Make the most out of your feed by deciding on a post theme. Posting similar content each time you post helps people relate that back to you - therefore, they will recognize your content each time! Having a theme will also create a nice look on platforms like Instagram, where all of your photos group together.

Tip #5: Be Creative!

Focus on posting captivating content. Draw people in with eye catching visuals or relatable quotes - show them something they haven't seen yet! Or, on trend - post what everyone else is posting...but make it original.
